Monday Nights are Back at Training Days!

For the first time of its 2020-2021 season, M&R Equestrian Services' Training Days program set the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center alight for nighttime show jumping.

Monday, Jan. 11 rang in the new year and a new show season with training events under the lights. Held for the first time in 2020, the Monday night program offers riders the unprecedented opportunity to train over a course of show jumps under the lights. With courses set by FEI course designers, the program has served as a valuable stepping stone to "Saturday Night Lights" competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival, the "Show Jumping Under the Stars" Grand Prix Series in Venice, FL, and other events held under spotlights throughout the country, giving horses positive experiences in a bold and often daunting atmosphere.

"We're thrilled to be able to bring back Monday nights to our Training Days schedule," said Juan Andrés Rodríguez, who alongside fellow Olympian Alberto Michan, hosts the Training Days program. "The facility at Jim Brandon offers us spectacular lighting to host top level show jumping in a relaxing environment that we feel does so much good for riders and horses. We're looking forward to many more nights at Jim Brandon this winter!"

For the entirety of the winter circuit in Wellington, Training Days will offer an expanded schedule, featuring events on Monday nights and Tuesdays each week. Hours after events concluded Monday, the Training Days team was reopening its gates for Tuesday training classes. Week 10 hosted more than 130 horses, who jumped at heights ranging from 1.0m to 1.40m in two different arenas.

Training Days continue through April 2021. Additional information, including weekly course maps, can be found here.
