With sold out entries for a second straight year, CSI Greenwich will host an elite lineup of show jumping athletes for its second edition, Oct. 7-8 at the Greenwich Polo Club in Greenwich, CT.

A year ago, Nayel Nassar (EGY) won the inaugural CSI3* Grand Prix of Greenwich, and this year the veteran of both the 2021 Olympic Games (JPN) and FEI World Championships (DEN) will return to Greenwich looking to defend his title. Nassar claimed his 2021 victory in Greenwich with his championship mount, Igor van de Wittemoere, but this year, he will bring forward the talented 13-year-old Holsteiner gelding, Coronado for three-star competition. Partnered for just a few months at the time of last year's event, in 2022, the two have now put together an impressive resume, with wins at Spruce Meadows (CAN) and Dublin (IRL) in the last six weeks.

Former World No. 1 Kent Farrington (USA) is at the head of the event's Organizing Committee. Currently ranked eighth in the World, he has entered the exciting 9-year-old Zangersheide gelding Landon. Landon represented the U.S. in Nations Cup competition at both Vancouver (CAN) and Spruce Meadows this summer.

World No. 16 and two-time Olympic gold medalist McLain Ward (USA) will bring forward new horsepower in the form of the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding Lezaro. Partnered only since June, the pair got acclimated with a national standard win in the Old Salem Grand Prix before stepping up to FEI competition at the Hampton Classic, where they posted two top 10 finishes.

An exciting group of American riders on the rise will also join the lineup. Alex Matz and Carly Anthony finished third and fourth, respectively in the 2021 CSI3* Grand Prix of Greenwich and will be back with the same mounts, Jet Blue and Erdento van de Leeuwerk. Vanessa Hood will step up to the CSI3* division after jumping at the two-star level at Greenwich last year; and Evan Coluccio, Ailish Cunniffe and Mimi Gochman will all make their CSI Greenwich debuts.

They'll be joined by Championship veterans Paul O'Shea (IRL), Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Beat Mandli (SUI), among a robust list of accomplished riders.

"We have received a tremendous response from athletes wanting to compete at CSI Greenwich, and I am grateful for their support," Farrington said. "I'm looking forward to being a part of a weekend of top sport."For more information on CSI Greenwich, visit CSIGreenwich.com.
